Richard Crompton

Director of Communications

Richard Crompton is a former journalist and TV producer who has worked in environmental and development communications for a decade. Richard started his career at the BBC, where he worked for seven years, before moving to Arusha, Tanzania. He worked as a reporter across the continent before setting up the East Africa bureau for CNBC Africa.

Moving into communications, Richard worked for UNEP and Oxfam in East Africa before relocating to New York in 2017.

Richard is an award-winning author whose first novel was described as "impressive" by the Wall Street Journal and "a smashing debut" by the Financial Times. He has a MA (with Distinction) in Creative Writing from the University of Lancaster (UK) and BA in English Language and Literature from the University of Manchester (UK).

He enjoys live music and theater, and the great outdoors.
