Between Lights and Shadows
Two young women living in an informal settlement in the outskirts of Lima experience love, heartache, STDs, violence, and unwanted pregnancies. Despite the odds, they overcome these challenges and succeed in life.
In Peru, approximately one out of three people is under 18 years old. 13% of female teenagers between 15 and 19 years old have been pregnant at least once. Only 8.8% of adolescent women are currently using some method of family planning. 51% of teenager women in Peru lack information about STD’s, and HIV/AIDS. More than 3% of HIV infections happen in teenagers between 15 and 19 years old, and 17% happen in young people between 20 and 24 years old.
To raise awareness about these issues, PCI Media Impact and partners produced the weekly radio drama Entre Luces y Sombras, which is the main feature of the one hour live talk show Cambiando Vidas (Changing lives).

Pachamamanchikta Wagauchasun is a radio drama designed to strengthen the knowledge concerning the separation and final disposal of trash. Geared towards school age children, the program focuses on environmental protection and improvements in health.
