PCI Media Impact wins the Millbank Social Marketing Award for the Belize program Punta Fuego

The Millbank Social Marketing Award for Innovation in the Environmental Field was awarded to PCI Media Impact on June 17, 2016. The award honors an organization whose work has a profound impact on environmental issues. With just one season under its belt, the Punta Fuego program in Belize began impacting the lives of fisherfolk the moment it hit the airwaves. Consisting of a radio drama, call in show, and local activities, the program succeeded in spreading the message of sustainability. Replenishment zones, marine protected areas, and rules against over fishing were broadcast throughout the nation. By creating relatable characters and allowing open discussions on radio drama topics, Punta Fuego persuaded its large fan base to protect their ocean by creating sustainable fisheries.
