Development Assistant (New York)
PCI-Media Impact seeks a dedicated, enthusiastic, well-organized, extremely detailed and resourceful person to serve as Development Assistant. The position is an integral part of the development team and the team meeting its annual goals and objects. The Development Assistant position is full-time exempt and reports to the Director of Development.
Pay is highly competitive with benefits.
Duties and Responsibilities
Administrative
• Oversee the day-to-day administrative needs of and provide support to the development team
• Manage the fund raising database, conduct the data entry, generate reports and queries as needed, and coordinate the training of the development team in order to ensure that all skills are up-to-date
• Maintain the integrity of the database and perform quality assurance measures
• Supervise development interns when working in the fund raising database and on the preparation of appeals, campaigns and solicitations
• Process and acknowledge all gifts
• Assist the Executive Director and Controller as needed
• Respond to requests for information about the organization and its programs, direct calls and develop organized filing system
• Answer telephones and keep notes of calls and visitors
• Arrange domestic and international travel, schedule meetings and draft correspondence as needed
Fund Raising and Communications
• Assist with fund raising campaigns, appeals and solicitations
• Liaise with the direct mail company, participate in the development of appeals and solicitations, and make sure that all deadlines are strictly adhered
• Assist with prospect research as needed
• Assist with the coordination of special events, both on and off site, as needed
• Distribute press releases and other public relations communications to the organization’s network of press, media and other stake holders
Requirements and Skills
• High-level understanding and comfort with database systems with 3 to 5 years of recent experience with Raiser’s Edge preferred
• Familiarity with Blackbaud products
• Ability to work effectively alone and within a team
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook
• Strong oral, written and organization skills with Spanish language fluency a plus
